Domestic Violence Symposium

The 4th Annual Union County C.A.R.E.S. Domestic Violence Symposium hosted over 200 people on April 6, 2017.  This annual event is planned and coordinated by YWCA Union County, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, and our co-sponsors to shine a spotlight on an issue of major importance that nonetheless is rarely discussed in great detail – domestic violence.

Our focus in 2017 was the “Hidden Victims of Domestic Violence – the LGBTQ community, the immigrant community, the disabled and older adults, and male victims.”

Domestic violence is estimated to impact 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men nationwide.  Domestic violence cuts across all ages, races, ethnicities, religions, economic classes and more.
