The Westfield Foundation has committed the lead gift to the YWCA Union County’s Building for the Future capital campaign. Totaling $250,000, this gift kicked off the philanthropic campaign totaling $650,000 to support the rebuilding of the YWCA’s facility in Elizabeth that was destroyed by fire in September 2019. With help from the Westfield Foundation, the capital campaign has reached 74% of it’s goal and is scheduled to be completed in December 2020. According to YWCA Union County CEO, Jan Lilien, “This gift from the Westfield Foundation’s Bertha Bogaert Fund set us on our way to success. We are very grateful for the Foundation’s support to make this new facility a reality.”

The Westfield Foundation provides funding support in the arts, health, aging, historic preservation, social services and civic projects. Since 1975, the Westfield Foundation continues to serve as a community foundation whose funds help people invest in causes they care most about and be an important resource for organizations with new or emerging needs.
