On September 13th, the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting was held to officially open the Union County Family Justice Center located in the new Union County Courthouse Cherry Street Annex in Elizabeth. The FJC model provides a co-location of services including counseling, legal services, law enforcement, the prosecutor’s office, and social services such as housing, immigration, rental aid and much more. These services are provided by the YWCA and on-site partners and referrals to the community. Special thanks go out to the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Union County Department of Human Services, and the Union County Prosecutor’s Office for partnering with us to bring the FJC to Union County.
